Monitoring for Impact in Sustainable Land Use Finance
In this guidance document, and the accompanying case studies, we set out recommendations for impact funds that are looking to create robust impact frameworks. The guidance is based on UNEP and UNEP-WCMC’s experience with helping funds and facilities advance environmental and social impact management in sustainable land investment. It runs through five key stages, or building blocks, for developing a sound environmental and social impact management framework for a new fund.

Biodiversity Impact Indicators for Agriculture – report for Defra, June 2022
Final report from a project carried out by UNEP-WCMC and Pegasys for Defra, to identify ways to measure biodiversity within impact investments associated with agricultural lending. To achieve this, we conducted a literature review, interviewed stakeholders from 23 impact funds and expert organisations, and used our findings to develop a shortlist of 11 indicators applicable to measuring biodiversity impacts arising from agricultural interventions. Summaries of all of this work can be found here.
